son shines

‘you know what daddy?’
sends me
suddenly
spinning down rabbit holes
of mystery
into the unknown
and unshown
and undetected

spaces of imagined,
or actions
crashing,
through far flung
patterns
of my son’s mind,
where he kite chases
with patience collected

and those ideas
he has
he says
fit into spaces
where only his frame
can fit
so I sit
still and affected

by his cloud chasing
while facing
the amazing
reality
he’s gazing
into his future
and at his truth there,
perfected.
