Antique 1920-30's Art deco sterling silver celluloid sweetheart portrait ring. From what research I could gather these celluloid portrait rings were used as a way to keep your loved ones in remembrance whether you were away for work, in prison and they were sometimes even used as mourning jewelry. Inside of the band is marked STERLING and signed ->U<- for UNCAS; ring has been tested for metal purity. popular Minor surface scratches and some tarnishing present due to preowned condition. Ring is a size 8, but it can be sized by your local bench jeweler. There is a minor imperfection to the bottom side of the frame, it appears to be slightly dinged.
