This is a Small Ammonite Fossil with a Gold/Pink Zircon set into the centre of the 25mm x 18mm piece. This 5ct brilliant cut Gold Zircon is an estimated 3.5 Billion Year Old gemstone from Central Australia.
Ammonites emerged during the Lower Jurassic (163 million years ago) and Cretaceous (120 million years ago) periods in age and are quarried in the Mahajanga Province of Madagascar. As ancestors of octopi and squid, Ammonites used their tentacles to ensnare unsuspecting prey, much like their modern counterparts.

Set into the centre of the Fossil, a brilliant cut Gold/Pink Zircon Crystal was bezel set into a sterling silver tube. This Gold 4.5mm Zircon Crystal was collected from the Hart's Range Zircon Gem-field at 'Mud Tank' in central Australia. Zircons from this area are said to be about 3.5 BILLION years old.
