As the round gold foil label states, "Freeman-McFarlin - Originals - in artist's palette Fine Arts Line - El Monte, California" this ashtray was made by Freeman-McFarlin, a California pottery company. The ashtray is in the boomerang shape which was very popular in the Mid Century Modern time period. This piece is in shades of beige with two shades of turquoise blue and a darker blue or black at the center. There is gold "glitter" throughout. This ashtray is 10-1/4" wide x 7" deep x 1-3/8" tall. It has three diamond shaped rests that cut into the top of the ashtray. There is another partial gold foil label on the bottom that states" ? Crystal Crackle Jewel Glaze - will be artistically enhanced over the - years by additional crackling. You - will note that some lines have ? (all) - ready begun to form. No two ? (pieces) - will ever be alike.". This ashtray is from the 1950s. popular The rack is not included. It is for display only.
This piece does not have any chips or cracks. The crackling, which the label says was supposed to be there, has happened as you can see in the last picture. there is only one felt pad still present.
