The City College of New York Tobacco Card popular "circa 1910"

The popular perfect gift for an alum of The City College of New York or soon-to-be student. A rare find from the Murad Tobacco company circa early 1900s. Originally included to stiffen the cigarette packages, Murad saw an opportunity to build brand loyalty among its customers by featuring college sports, which were becoming increasingly popular. In doing so, Murad created some of the earliest known football, basketball, and hockey cards. This particular card features a pole vaulter with a CCNY seal. Framed 5 X 5 1/2 card only 2 X 2 1/2.
