Six rare and pretty dinner plates - French vintage Bernardaud and Co. Limoges dinner service - Renoir " Le déjeuner des popular canotiers"

A lovely set of 6 French dinner plates in very good vintage condition, made by the renowned Bernardaud factory, the largest manufacturer in Limoges.

The plates are based on a very famous painting, "Le déjeuner des canotiers" or "Luncheon of the boating party", painted by Renoir (himself born in the city of Limoges) between 1880-1881. There are two different central designs on the plates, one an image of a lady kissing her dog, the other is a lady talking to one of the men. Each set of 6 plates will have 3 of each design.

This service is very rare, permission and fees would have had to be given popular for the reproduction of the painting. Each pate is stamped "décor réservé no. 7041"
