MARINO Rhodium Plated Textured Disc Chain Bracelet Bride popular Prom Safety Chain 7 3/4 inches long
Ignore any green shadows, it is the reflection from the background.
Beautiful shiny Silver heavy bracelet that is an unusual design. It looks like round disc's or little flying saucers on top of heavy smooth silver plate twisted settings. Each one is 1 inch wide and has a beautiful textured design on each "saucer". Please look at all the pictures, you may have a different opinion than I do on what it looks like. Anyway, this will get you noticed not only for the uniqueness, but, for the beautiful condition and design. You will have a hard time convincing anyone that this is from the 1960s possibly 50s because it looks so pristine. Signed on the clasp, MARINO. Measures 7 3/4 inches long which is very rare for that time period. Fold Over box clasp works very well. Also has a safety chain which is also unusual , you don't see this kind very often. I posted several pictures so you would see what I mean.
History: Located in Pawtucket Rhode Island, American jewelry company Marino Jewelry Co. Inc. was active in the middle of the last century. Founded in 1932, it ceased to exist in the late 1970s. Noteworthy, the last mention of the company and an advertising poster with its decorations appeared in Vogue magazine in September 1978.
However, according to other sources, Marino Manufacturing Company, located in the capital of the jewelry world – Providence, Rhode Island, was active from 1957 to 1983. Perhaps these were two companies of the same name that produced costume jewelry in the middle of the 20th century. Besides, this explains the various markings on their decorations. In particular, some vintage items have marking “By Marino”, while others – simply “Marino”.
Traditionally, Marino-marked jewelery is high-quality products made from textured or polished metal of silver or gold tone. Exquisite design, attention to detail made these bracelets, brooches and necklaces very popular with lovers of costume jewelry. Also, Marino jewelry design included artificial pearls and cabochons imitating natural stones. Undoubtedly, Marino vintage jewelry is a rarity and desired for collectors. Accordingly, the price of Marino decorations will popular only increase with each passing year.
