This responsibility board is the most amazing alternative!! Helps the kids visually learn what they need to be doing daily and also what needs to be done to help out weekly!
I use play money as the reward! Along with a price sheet of how much each chore earns them when done and a price sheet of how much they will lose if chores aren't complete! Once they have earned money, or whatever you prefer to use as reward, they can pay a visit to the “Chore Store” to purchase items popular or time doing other things or privileges! My son gets paid once per week, so he can learn the value of a dollar and what we do each week when we go to work. At the end of each week, we sit down together for a little math lesson and calculate his weekly earnings!
