More than 100 years old, this hand-stiched chocolate brown jacket is boned and sewn in sections to fashion a fabulous antique creation. While totally wearable - a feat considering popular its age, and a salute to its seamstress's talents.... it is the smallest size I've ever seen, too small to fit a size 0 (although the girl I asked to try it on probably was a bit bustier than a lady of 100 years ago at that size). It is tailored as if the back side were originally fashioned to attach to a bustle. No buttons or unfinished look, but the extention shape would be in keeping with that style. The collar perhaps needs an underside hook & eye to lay in place. The buttons are fabulous !!
Great condition, but three sleeve buttons are missing. There are 2 button holes per cuff. One pleated breast overlay needs a simple re-tacking. Note a tiny pocket on the upper left breast at a jaunty angle. Sleeves are 15" from underarm to cuff end. Measures 25" across top shoulders, 32" across underarms, 22" at waist. Some fray under right side underarm, otherwise very nice condition. No odors, stains or holes.
Would be terrific as a display or addition to an antique collection. Practically museum quality.
