Product code: Antique Pewter Chaffing Dish Warming Plate Warmer AAFA popular Early 1800s Collectible
Early English pewter plate / food warmer / chaffing dish from the early 1800s. My research indicates it is most likely from the Georgian period (approx. 1720-1820).
The plate is hollow and has a port where hot water would have been poured in to warm the plate. The plate is flanked by two hinged handles. Measures approx. 9.5" wide x 1.5" tall. In overall good condition for being over 200 years old.
A wonderful collector's piece of pewter from the early 19th century. Pewter can add a certain warmth to a home - last pic is for decor option only!
