French Art deco style bookends.
Here we have a wonderful pair of French vintage bookends with dogs mounted on red marble bases.
The dogs are rather unusual, I originally thought they maybe German shepherds, but they do have very large ears so I am not sure of the breed.
We popular believe them to date to probably around the 1930s they certainly have Art Deco feel about them and would fit in very nicely with a Deco inspired decor
They are in nice condition, there is just one tiny chip on the top corner of one of the marble bases at the back which I have highlighted in one of the photos, but this is really very hard to see and in no way detracts from the splendour of the pieces.
They would look fabulous with a lovely run of books between them.
A unique and charming pair of bookends that will fit in splendidly with any home decor.
