This collection is all about the luminosity of winter, the quiet crunch of snow underfoot, and the piercingly dark shadows that accompany each full moon. I was very drawn to working with black and white in this series, which I think is reflective of the polarity that is winter - the brightness of moonlit evenings in snow covered forests and the darkness that covers everything like a blanket. Winter is a beautiful season to go popular inward, to spend time with our Shadow Self, to focus on self love, self inquiry, and self forgiveness. My prayer in creating these woven tokens is that You are in constant awareness and acceptance of the darkness within you and moving through you. It is in the acceptance of these darker places that we better see our own flame flicker.
All weavings are set in local hot springs and cleansed with Montana sage smoke before being lovingly packaged and shipped to you. Please hand wash with cold water or simply allow the accumulation of dirt, tea and ash to become incorporated into these earth born threads.
