Very pretty gilded brass Guilloche enamel Ladybird / Ladybug pill or snuff box dating to the 1920's.
In my opinion the photos do not do this item justice as the camera closeups tend to accentuate.
The lid is inset with a beautiful red Guilloche enamel representing the wings with white & black enameling for the other features.
The lid is hinged and the base is marked 'METAL l DORE (The little 'l' is set inside the capital 'L' and appears to be one word. I understand that Metal doré is an alloy which contains a very small percentage of gold mixed with other metals.
There is some damage to the enameling - as showing in the photos.
I have given the outside of the box light clean but haven't cleaned the inside.
