*Please read our pocket watch statement below before buying.
Working antique ladies pocket watch with key. It is approximately 1 3/8 inches in diameter without the bow and stem and approximately 3/8 inches thick. The case is 800 silver with some marks and dings and has a crest on the back cover waiting for a monogram. All three covers of the case snap shut. The crystal is popular thick and has some marks. The dial has Roman numerals and has a hairline that runs from between 12 and 1 down to between 4 and 5. This hairline is only visible really under a loupe. The interior dust cover states 8 jewels. The key is used to set the time by placing the key in the center hole of the dust cover and turning the key so that the hands move clockwise. The key is also used to wind the pocket watch by placing the key in the other hole in the dust cover and gently turning it clockwise The pocket watch has been tested three times and 9 half-turns of the key will give you approximately 31 hours of running time with 2 minutes running fast. This pocket watch, in my opinion, is not for someone's first pocket watch. **This pocket watch is fully wound at 9 half-turns of the key. ** Do not overwind this pocket watch. The only mark that we see is GT on the case. Research states that GT was a Swiss firm from the late 1800's into the 1900's. All vintage and antique pocket watches should be serviced every 3 to 5 years and we do not know when this pocket watch was serviced.
*Our Pocket Watch Statement:
Please read and understand this statement before buying one of our pocket watches. We want to make this clear. First, we do not accept returns. Second, we know nothing about the pocket watches we offer for sale except the basic information listing. All are vintage or antique pocket watches, which means that they have probably been handled by many people over the course of time. Buying a vintage or antique pocket watch in this price range does carry risk because we have absolutely no idea if any pocket watch. If it does not run, we say so. If it runs, we say so. If it has some issue, but does run, we say so. We are honest people, but you have to understand that buying a vintage or antique pocket watch in our price range does not mean that they cannot break and need repair. The parts and labor can be very expensive if you cannot do it yourself or have a friend who does.
