The Holy Quran / Religious book / Abdullah Yusuf Ali / Volume Two / Text Translation and Commentary / Word of God / Muslim Holy Book
The Holy Quran was published in 1965 and printed by Printing Production, Beirut.
The Quran measures 5 3/8 inches by 8 3/8 inches. It has the Arabic on the right hand side and the English translation on the left along with comments below.
It has bottle green boards with the title written in gilt on the spine and the front.
The Quran is in good condition. The spine is still in tact. The pages have colored yellow somewhat and a few pages had been turned by accident in the bottom right corners.
It is extremely usable and it really is in fine fettle for the age.
It would be a super addition to any collection, excellent display or practical piece, or authentic period prop.

THE QURAN
The Quran is the central religious text of Islam, believed by Muslims to be a revelation from God (Allah). It is widely regarded as the finest work in classical Arabic literature. It is organized in 114 chapters, which consist of verses.
Muslims believe that the Quran was orally revealed by God to the final prophet, Muhammad, through the archangel Gabriel incrementally over a period of some 23 years, beginning in the month of Ramadan, when Muhammad was 40; and concluding in 632, the year of his death. Muslims regard the Quran as Muhammad's most important miracle; a proof of his prophethood; and the culmination of a series of divine messages starting with those revealed to Adam, including the Tawrah (Torah), the Zabur ("Psalms") and the Injil ("Gospel"). The word Quran occurs some 70 times in the popular text itself, and other names and words are also said to refer to the Quran.
The Quran is thought by Muslims to be not simply divinely inspired, but the literal word of God. Muhammad did not write it as he did not know how to write. According to tradition, several of Muhammad's companions served as scribes, recording the revelations. Shortly after the prophet's death, the Quran was compiled by the companions, who had written down or memorized parts of it.
