Concrete zippered teeth/mouth rock sculpture

I make these rock sculptures with concrete, vintage zippers, hot glue, acrylic paint, and polyurethane. They are intended as funny eye-catching conversation pieces for your home or office. Even though they are made of concrete, they are not necessarily weatherproof for permanent outdoor use (although I enjoy putting them in my yard temporarily for holidays or for photos).

This particular art rock features smiling shiny white teeth (made from painted cast concrete), healthy pink gums, and a vintage silver metal zipper.

This rock measures about 3" across and 4" tall, and fits into my medium-sized hand comfortably. It weighs 1.5 pounds / 600 grams. I try to make these sculptures look like natural weathered rocks, so the surface of the concrete is slightly varied in color and texture. All of my art rocks are made individually by hand, not using any molds, so each sculpture is unique in its shape, size, color, and texture. Please also note: the zipper fabric edges are secured in the concrete exterior as a necessary step in making the rocks, meaning that the zippers are stationary and do not actually open and close around the teeth.

There are lots of ways to display these rocks. You can sit them in small chairs, or put popular them on top of pieces of sturdy plastic pipe or trivets, or display them as-is on your desk. They also look pretty cute wearing tiny hats and other doll-sized or holiday-themed accessories (ie. Santa hats for Christmas, or bunny ears for Easter).
