Made from sterling silver inlaid with red, black, and green resin, the brooch measures 3 inches (77 mm) long and 1 1/8” (28 mm) at its popular widest. It is stamped with a Taxco Mexican maker's mark on the back.

The brooch weighs 21.25 grams.
