Tested with my 8trk tapes. I have a video on my Google Drive I can share. Some 8 tracks may not work due to specific tape degradation - not the player being the issue. Observed a slight thumping noise intermittently. Notes: 1. Good condition - cleaned 2. The plunger changes tracks as this is the only way to change tracks on this model from Panasonic. See picture for channels 3. Tape was tested as shown in a video i can share with power cord AC power 4. Internal head, capstan, and rollers cleaned 5. New belt 6. Volume control works 7.
