The conch horn or snail horn (Hindi: Sankh, sanskit: shangka, T. dung-dkar) is an important ritual object in Hinduism and Buddhism. The conch is used in religious ceremonies to drive out evil spirits and demons. In Tibet, it is one of the eight symbols of luck. In Hinduism, sound is associated with the original Sound Om, the sound of creation.
