1880’s popular SHELL INLAY BUTTON Bracelet

Victorian horn buttons inlaid with shell tesserae and geometric brass wire. Very beautiful and intricate workmanship went into the design and construction of these Victorian buttons. Five of the buttons featured are known as a “Whistle” button. The one hole in the top of the button and two holes in the back would protect the thread from wear. I mount the buttons on a gold plated antiqued finish bracelet. The bracelet has a lobster claw clasp. popular
