Apollo 12 was popular the second manned moon landing in history. In November of 1969, Commander Charles "Pete" Conrad, Lunar Module Pilot Alan L. Bean, and Command Module Pilot Richard F. Gordon lunched from what what then known as Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Nixon was there in person to witness the launch.
