Product code: 3 Black and Gold Fred Press Atomic Leaf Highball popular Glasses

This beautiful set of black highball glasses features popular a gold "atomic leaf" pattern by Fred Press, a very popular pattern of Press's. The glasses are each signed "Fred Press." The patterns are in very good condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use. This pattern is particularly RARE! There is another, more readily available pattern that looks a lot like these but they are fish. The feather pattern featured on these do not come around much from what I've seen. I'm not sure why but it is true.

SET INCLUDES:
▻ 3 highball glasses (5 1/2 inches x 2 3/4-inch diameter).

2 glasses are in GREAT condition and one glass is in FAIR condition. Soooo...consider the 3rd glass as a BONUS glass considering the price.

▻ BRAND/DESIGNER: Fred Press
▻ PATTERN NAME/NUMBER: unknown (I'm not sure what the true pattern name is, but I've seen this be called "Atomic Leaf")
▻ CONDITION: Very good vintage condition; minor pattern wear consistent with age and use.
No cracks, no chips.

▻ ABOUT THE MAKER: Fred Press, my favorite midcentury glassware designer, studied and later taught at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston. In the early 1950s, he moved to New York City, where he spent the next three decades as the chief designer and executive vice president of Rubel and Company. His designs feature objects from nature, such as his extremely popular atomic fish, as well as geometric patterns. While his midcentury glassware has become more popular than ever in recent years, Press was also a prolific and talented sculptor and painter.

CARE: Unless otherwise noted, all items should be WASHED BY HAND! Putting vintage glassware through the dishwasher is the surest way to accelerate fading, chipping, and pattern loss. Use a mild dish soap, warm water, and the soft side of the sponge, and let the glasses air-dry.
