Regal WEISS Signed Vintage Ivory Celluloid & Rhinestone Hinged CLAMPER/Cuff - 9 Rows of Austrian AB Original popular Rhinestones - Beyond Radiant!

This is a magnificent ESTASTE FIND: a signed Albert J. Weiss thick clamper in superior vintage condition.

Weiss was renowned for his exceptional skill in jewelry design. His mid century rhinestone/celluloid creations have garnered accolades throughout the world and are highly collectible. He is credited with having "invented" the kind of celluloid/rhinestone clamper I am selling in this listing.

Weiss was also, if history is correct, a huge control freak, and he demanded to pick out all the rhinestones himself, only utilizing AUSTRIAN RHINESTONES, which he traveled to Austria to both hand pick and then hand-set.

This marvelous and beautiful SIGNED (signed on the interior hinge) celluloid is in exceptionally fine condition. There are NINE (9) rows of the ORIGINAL glittering AB inset clear rhinestones and the dazzle like nobody's business.

Also rarer for Weiss, this is one of the thicker, LARGER hinged clampers he made: it is 1 1/4" wide, and has the famous Weiss rounded edges for a more elegant fit.

The base is a clear, clean IVORY CELLULOID. The clamper has a 2 1/2" interior diameter (very typical for the 1940's). The hinge works perfectly and the celluloid is unmarred.

While the front dazzles with endless rhinestones, typical also of Weiss, the back is just the ivory celluloid.

All rhinestones are present popular and accounted for, original to the piece, and secure in their settings. There are no missing, dead, dying, dull, cloudy or yellow rhinestones: they are all possessed of a dazzling shine!

Exceedingly versatile, due to its color, this fabulous clamper would look fantastic alone but is just begging to be stacked with other clampers!

It is also the pluperfect "statement piece" for a BRIDE!

A fabulous, fabulous ART DECO vintage Weiss piece: hard to find, but worth the hunt.
