RARE 1902 Bairn's Book 'The Shopping Day' By Clare Bridgman, First Publishing.

Charming little Bairn's Book "The Shopping Day" written by Clare Bridgman and illustrated by Charles Robinson. This first publishing was produced in 1902 by J.M. Dent & Company. Featuring 120 pages filled with illustrations, this hardcover book was published in Edinburgh by McLagan & Cumming, Chromo-Lithographers And Printers.

Bairn's Books were a small series of children's books from the early 20th century. Very little is known about them, and through our own sleuthing we were only able to unearth about three different popular titles. By far 'The Shopping Day' is the rarest of all.

A wonderful rare museum quality memento.

Measures just 5" x 3¾".

CONDITION: Wear to outer spine and covers, as seen in photos. Internal hinge cracking, most notable to the front. There's a small ½" hole in the FFEP (see photo #6, left hand side). Varying degrees of foxing and tanning throughout, and some small smudging in the first few pages. Bumps to corners, wear to spine edges. Boards are still nice but have light staining.
