Fine Antique Banded Oval Polished Agate Gilt Pill or popular Patch Box Victorian Trinket

A beautiful antique polished banded agate and gilt metal box. Would have been used for pills or patches, etc, and dating to the 19th Century. In a very good condition with a couple of spots of tarnish (I have not polished this item), and with a couple of faults (tiny cracks or imperfections) to the stone, which would have already existed when the piece was made. Hinges and closure all excellent, a very well-made box.

Measuring approximately 1 1/2" long, 1 1/4" deep and just over 5/87" high. Perfect for storing one's tiny necessaries! popular
