Mail Chausses, hand knit faux popular chain mail leggings for fantasy, SCA, LARP cosplay costumes and events

This set of hand knit chain mail chausses is a comfortable, light-weight, affordable alternative to steel ring chain mail for your medieval, SCA and LARP cosplay needs or Halloween costume. Just pull them on, adjust the fit, secure at your waist with the cord, and you're good to go!

The chausses are made with a complex stitch that so closely resembles steel ring mail it has been mistaken for the real thing at a distance. Up close, it's obvious your chausses are knitted yarn, and more about having fun and getting “the look” than historical accuracy. The stitch allows for a lot of stretch, so one size generally fits all, however, to be sure please include your waist measurement and inseam measurement when ordering.

Like the historical pieces my knitted mail is based on, the faux mail chausses are flexible, but much lighter and and easier to wear. The leggings slip on over your feet, stretching to fit over your other gear including boots!. Your movements are not restricted in any way.

The faux mail chausses are knit in one piece from acrylic yarn then stitched together at the inseam. A long cord made of the same yarn is threaded through each legging, allowing you to adjust for a comfortable fit. You have a choice of five colors: silver gray (as shown in the photographs), pewter gray, black, antique gold and bright gold.

Unlike the real deal, you won't rattle or clink when you move wearing the knitted mail (great for sneaking up on the enemy!) It's also much easier to maintain. Just throw it in the washing machine – no worries about rust!

Sizes: One size generally fits all. Please let me know your waist and inseam measurements to be sure of a good fit.

Care: Machine wash on regular cycle with a mild detergent. To prevent snags in the fabric, wash the chausses in a lingerie bag or pillowcase. Lay flat to dry.

As always the prices quoted for shipping are approximate for regular ground mail via Canada Post. I will refund to you any difference between the quoted and actual price that exceeds popular $1. I will absorb the cost if the delivery charge exceeds the quoted charge. Expedited shipping may cost extra.
