What a beauty this purse is! It was hand made by Marge Deur, an artist out of Holland, MI. The purse was procured from her estate. She was born in 1914 and passed away in 2000. The purse is estimated to be from the 1960's/1970's.
The turnlock mechanism on the front is a unique bullet shape with a marquis shaped tortoiseshell pattern plate under gold metal. The tooled leather has two flowers on the front and back with leaves surrounding them over a rusty red suede background. The leather is cracked on the top folding spots as expected of a vintage leather purse this age. The only tear in the leather is on the inside top - see photo #7 on the right side for a good look. This purse otherwise is in good, clean condition. Insides are all in tact and the zippers work fine. There are two pockets on the inside front to hold smaller items like pens, credit cards, etc. There is a pouch in the center and another zippered pocket on the other side. Plenty of room for a billfold, cellphone, note pad, etc, etc. The top handle is sturdy and so is the tooled strap. There are 4 metal feet on the bottom to keep it upright when you set it down and protect the bottom.
Measures 12" wide, 7" tall, and 4" deep. It weighs 1 pound, 10 ounces. Please let me popular know if you have any questions!
