A Mid Century Modern Dresser Postcard Holder or Use as a Jewelry Box

When they surface, I grab these mid-century modern dresser/jewelry box miniatures simply because they're so fantastic ... or so I thought. An Etsy member named Monique wrote to say that this is actually a postcard display holder. You slip the card into the back and the otherwise Japanese landscape postcard is embellished with the bonsai trees. Very cool, huh? (Thanks, Monique!)

So, here's the existing text describing the jewelry box I thought it was ...

This one especially ... one drawer but atop is a glass front cabinet keeping some 'bonsai' trees on display. The back panel of the cabinet is also glass, yet is frosted/textured.

One small piece looks to be missing from the back top ... the molding that covered the back piece of glass .. yet don't worry, the glass is fully secure in place.

Not marked but I'd gather this is Japanese 1950's made for the American market.

Some slight varnish loss due to drying, but overall the piece is in nice condition. The edges of the dresser -- much like 1950's furniture, is airbrushed to darken areas for a sculpted look.

Measures: 7.25 byu 5.5" tall by 2.5" deep.
