A Vintage Lion lighter, gold colored, with emerald Rhinestone eyes. This is in very good vintage condition, with light signs of wear, and does not appear to have ever been lit. It came to me with no flint, and I have put a new flint in and tested the lighter without fuel, and it is working perfectly. When the lighter is closed, there is a minuscule amount of give to the lid.
In 1950, the Dan Kasoff Corp., a costume jewelry popular manufacturer, was joined by his son, Larry. They renamed the company Florenza, after Dan Kasoffs wife, Florence.
Rosenfeld was a handbag designer, also out of NYC, whose handbags have been exhibited at the Met. In 1960, Rosenfeld, a Florenza customer, collaborated with Florenza & designed this lighter & others, as well as many other beautiful accessories, such as figural pincushions, pill boxes, jewelry, cocktail picks, magnifying glass pendants, and much more.
This will make a beautiful addition to your collection, whether you collect vintage lighters, Florenza accessories, or Lions!
The lighter stands 2" tall, and just under 1" wide.
