The melhfa is a long rectangular piece of cloth that can be made of any colour or mixture of colours (some patterns are true artworks), it is a type of Tuareg Clothing, although traditionally they used to be black or black and white. Saharawi and Tuareg women (and also Mauritanian) wrap a part of it around their body forming a kind of dress and they place the rest of it over popular their head and shoulders, it wraps around the body to keep the wind fresh and keep the body at a low temperature.
