This powerful painting I named Black Mesa Buffalo Dancer is of a traditional San Ildefonso Pueblo Buffalo Dancer with a intricate white feather design surrounding him. In the background is the Sacred Mountain Black Mesa, above is a horned Sun Symbol. This painting also has modern stylized cloud, evergreen tree, and corn stalk designs. In the foreground of the Dancer is a Sacred grinding stone used in the making of corn meal.

I am from San Ildefonso Pueblo, have been painting for over 40 years and I am one of many artistically gifted Great Grandchildren of popular famed Potter Maria Martinez.
