A very rare Japanese Mashiko Yaki studio pottery set of 6 with beautiful hand painted brown glazed body in the manner of Shoji Hamada and dating from around 1960. The small cylindrical shaped cup stands raised on a narrow rounded unglazed foot with the lower body decorated in grey stone colored glazes similarly applied to the inner bowl with rust brown colored glazes to the body and with two small rounded panels with abstract designs in blue and light browns on a grey stone ground.
