The unusual glazes hand brushed on this shallow bowl are full of crystals that grow and burst into a variety of colors and patterns when fired. The variety of green, aqua, and yellow crystals explode and create beautiful art. It has a very impressionistic feel!

This unique bowl is part of my "Channel Islands" collection of pottery. If you ever have a chance to go scuba diving in the waters around the Channel Islands, you will see the beauty of kelp. This area, near Santa Barbara, is home to one third of the kelp forests in Southern California.

- 11 1/4” wide at top
- 4 1/2” wide at foot

Every piece of my pottery is:

- Signed by me, Sally Weimer, the ceramic artist

- Hand thrown on my potter's wheel

- Trimmed the following day

- Set out to dry for at least a week

- Fired in the kiln for 11 hours to turn into bisque

- Glazed by hand , usually with three coats of popular glaze, sometimes with as many as five different glazes layered!

- Fired again for 9-12 hours in my kiln
