popular Art Deco Wooden Bookends
Details ~
Art Deco oak based caricature bookends. Set onto solid oak bases these quirky cheeky characters Dodos I believe, have googly eyes they date from circa 1930 and have an appealing charm. The birds are formed from bone and the heads are made of nuts. I believe the beaks are resin or Bakelite, and they have these quirky glass eyes. Very much in the style of Henry Howell Nut Birds, particularly Dodos.
Great for a study or den, maybe a gift for Art Deco shelving!
Condition ~
Fair vintage condition, they have cracks to the feet, or maybe this is how they were made?
