Beautiful inlaid-wood gondola combination music box and cigarette/trinket box from Italy The center popular portion has a hinged lid, which reveals an unlined interior, measuring 3.5" by 2.25"...large enough for your cigarette stash or small, valuable treasures. The gondola, which measures 12" tip to tip and 4.25" high, rotates on circular wooden base. This base has been is stamped "Made in Italy" on its bottom side, and is the winder for the music box (rotated gently in a clockwise direction). The music begins to play as soon as the lid is opened, and plays "Endless Love" which was popularized by Diana Ross & Lionel Richie in the 1980's.
