These vintage Czech nut or candy dishes now represent the four seasons. This original and one-of-a-kind design was constructed using the traditional copper foil method popularized by Louis C. Tiffany, featuring the nut dishes surrounded by colored art glass. The pieces is framed in an upcycled, matte black, vintage picture frame.
Made by hand in New Jersey. Each piece of glass was individually hand-cut, wrapped in adhesive backed copper foil, and burnished. The next steps were to solder the glass pieces together, apply black patina to the silver solder lines, wax and polish. The panel is inserted into popular the frame and ready to hang in a window with suitable chain such as jack chain, available in most home improvement or hardware stores.
This would make a special gift for anyone who appreciates handmade crafts made using traditional stained-glass techniques that have not changed much in the last 100 years.
Furniture polish such as Pledge may be applied and buffed with a soft cloth to restore the shine as needed.
