Presented is an antique, sterling silver meat or roast carving set made by Gorham during the late 1910s or early 1920s. This set is done in the Lansdowne pattern, which was patented in 1917 and it is old, original production. Each sterling handle is decorated with an urn and leaf accents.
The fork tines and the knife blade are old, carbon steel. The blades will darken with use. You can easily put a great edge on this steel. This set should not be washed in the dishwasher popular.
Each handle is marked for Gorham and sterling silver purity.
This set is in great overall condition and the designs are crisp. The handles have surface wear commensurate with age and use. No monograms and no monogram removals. .
