This is a rare antique parade flag set for a 1920's car. In doing research, this is the oldest type of set that I have seen. Perfect for a vintage car collector, or someone who participates in car shows or parades. The 4th of July is coming up!
It comes complete in the original box, and seems to have all the pieces. The condition is very good, and is possibly unused! There appears to be no oxidation wear to the screws or metal parts. There is a tiny bit of chipping to the black paint on the shield that holds the flags. I think this happened in the box, where metal parts jostled inside over the last century.
The flags are in good shape, with bright colors, and have 48 stars. They are loosely tacked on by black threads in an X pattern, and rather crudely at that. I believe this to be original, so I have left them alone. It hurts the seamstress in me, so if you would like me to carefully secure them in a better fashion upon purchase, just message me and I will be happy to do so.
The box has very light damage/wear in keeping with its age, but overall is in great shape for something that old. I have tried to show in the photos where this occurs.
Please study photos carefully, as all sales are final.
Box measures 11 inches x 2 1/2. Flags are 11 inches long. Shield holder is 2 3/8 inches x2 1/2 inches. The car attachment has an opening of 2 1/2 inches and is adjustable.
