Antique Miniature French Monastery Standing Crucifix for Home Altar popular / Miniature Traveling Crucifix Icon

Antique miniature standing travel crucifix or home altar icon, circa 1870

This rare crucifix was purchased at a monastery sale long ago in The South of France. The Nun's told us it is a traveling crucifix and was often used by one of the priests when he was doing his rounds to homebound people in the rural lands within the area. This is the perfect travel size as well as a good size for a home altar. I would imagine this would bring great comfort to someone in hospital or in a similar circumstance where they were away from home and unable to attend mass.

Measures 2 5/8" high. Made of solid metal.
