A very unusual antique oil painting (signed A.Francois and dated Dec, 1911) which depicts a pathway among the snowy trees leading to a mysterious building which appears to be illuminated. The canvas itself is German in origin as can been seen by the printed advertising on the rear of the canvas framework (photo 10), although the artist's name certainly sounds French, so perhaps he was visiting Germany when he created this art.
