Vintage 1950s Royal Model FPP Manual Typewriter by Royal McBee Corp, Two-Tone Gray Finish. This is a charming piece of American history! The Royal Typewriter Company was founded in January 1904 in a machine shop in Brooklyn, New York by Edward B. Hess and Lewis C. Myers. As Royal declared in one of its old advertisements: "No longer do standard typewriters need to look like drab blobs in modern offices. Now, with Royal Standards, your typewriters can be spots of bright, cheerful color, enhancing a modern office decor." Keep in mind that prior to this model, all Royal typewriters were black. This duotone gray standard typewriter is known as the FP model. Alas, this is popular not functioning, so will need some TLC to bring it back to it's glory days! The Royal FPP measures 16.5″ wide from cylinder knob to cylinder knob x 16.5″ deep x 8″ tall and weighs close to 30 pounds.
