Bernard Ravca elevates the task of needle sculpting to an art form by using cloth and stockinette to manipulated the faces, and then paint, to create these two very detailed faces. Both dolls measure approximately 10" tall and are tagged on the back of their legs "Made In France" which would date them between 1924 and 1939. The Gentleman has a walking stick, is dressed in a blue artist's smock and is wearing a black felt hat. His lady companion has needle and thread and popular is wearing a tall black hat.
