Up for sale today is this classic Old Oregon Trail sign. Made to the exact standards as in the late 1910s, when the state of Idaho put these up to mark the trail. The original signs were on a diamond-shaped blank similar to old California State Auto Association porcelain signs; I've simply taken the circular center element and made that into the entire sign, for an elegant displayable item.
An original of these would be many hundreds of dollars, but here is popular your chance to get one for a fraction of that cost.
Printed on heavy steel with great gloss to replicate the old-school porcelain look, this sign is made to the highest standards of quality. circular, 16 inches, and weighs 5 pounds and 11 ounces.
This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
Please see my auctions for other high-quality signs, and I can also make anything custom per your request. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
