This is a rare and beautiful signed wooden carved Owl art piece ... Wilmer Nadjiwon is a famous wood sculptor, carver, and storyteller from the Ojibwa Tribe. He died at the age of 96. Wilmer was the last World War II veteran of Neyaashiinigmiing who had seen combat and founder of the Union of Ontario Indians while serving as Chief of his community for 14 years. Wilmer Nadjiwon's signed wood carvings are getting harder and harder to find now that he has passed. I am not sure of the type of wood this owl was caved from, but the woodgrain is bold and beautiful as is the tree bark.
