Vintage Oaxacan Mexican Painted Black Pottery Clay Aztec Ceremonial Drum This rare, one of a kind objet d'art is sure to be a wonderful accent addition to a basket or pottery collection. It is very old, I am guessing mid century, around 1960s if not older. It is made with oaxacan black clay, with hand painted circles and square symbols and an applied face on the front and wiggling snake on the side. It is a hand drum, and can be easily played with just fingers. It is in good condition for its age, however there is a chip on popular the nose of the face and some wear on the drum face.
It is approx. 6 inches wide and 6 inches tall. The drum head is approx. 4 inches across.
