This handmade stained glass mosaic panel features a vibrant yellow and red Western tanager bird. It has been created using various shades of transparent and popular translucent hand-cut stained glass adhered to a pane of clear glass. The mosaic has been permanently mounted in a beautiful repurposed solid wood frame (11 3/4" x 9 3/4" measured to the outer edge of frame) and finished with dark grey grout.

A glass on glass (GOG) mosaic blends the transparency of modern stained glass with the intricacy of mosaics. The result is a detailed piece of artwork that "glows" when light is transmitted thru it.

The glass artworks look beautiful when they are backlit by natural light. Alternatively, they can also be displayed with artificial backlighting. Intended for indoor display.

All windows and most frames used for these artworks are vintage. Small signs of age and character such as dings or scratches may be present.
