Jamdani was originally known as Dhakai named after the city of Dhaka, one of many ancient textile weaving centers in Bengal region. It is one of the most time and labor-intensive forms of hand loom weaving, and is considered one of the finest varieties of muslin,and the most artistic textile of Bangladeshi weavers. Traditionally woven around Dhaka and created on the loom brocade, jamdani is rich in motifs. Jamdani is a vividly patterned, sheer cotton fabric, traditionally woven on a handloom by craftspeople and apprentices around Dhaka. ... Jamdani is a time-consuming and labour-intensive form of weaving because of the richness of its motifs, which are created directly on the loom using the discontinuous weft technique. As the item is vintage some mild stains are visible.

While these are pre-washed, in case you are buying this for personal wear, we advise getting an additional dry-cleaning done. Dry-clean is $3 extra and will take 3-4 days additionally to ship.
