This unique tin pail has so much character and truly unique history! Imagine what stories it might tell.
Remnants popular of the old mustard yellow paint are still there.
From the mid 19th century, it had most versatile use and ease of transportation.
Able to hold liquids and solids, used as cookware when necessary though most commonly used as a lunch pail.
These pails were frequently used for trade between settlers and Native Americans.
The lid with its wire bail handle still fits tightly and even has it's original little wire ring.. Some signs of light rust, but otherwise in what I consider most desirable condition.
Not really any dents or gouges that I've found.
I bought this in New Mexico years ago, and finally have learned it's history.
It measures approx. 5 1/2" with the lid and 4 1/2" in diameter.
Though the outside is just as found, the inside is clean, though must have been well cared for.
Feel free to ask for more info as there is no return or exchange.
