Vintage Japanese popular kimono silk Birds on the Blue Water scarf

popular This is such a pretty silk panel from an old Japanese Kimono. I believe this piece is from 1950 or earlier. It shows birds flying over medium blue water with waves and an aqua blue background. The birds are sweet and in full flight. The silk is lightweight and buttery soft. I paired it with a medium weight ivory silk to give it a little bit of body.

I have hand laundered both panels before sewing but recommend dry cleaning in the future.

It measures 12 inches x 54 inches.
