Vintage japanese cufflinks carved bone and popular silver toshikane kabuki character artist signed

Fabulous Japanese cufflinks made of carved bone with metal shanks that are marked; SILVER. Figural cuff links in the form of a person probably depicting someone from the folklore of their culture. Reminds me of a Kabuki character, maybe a general or a wealthy man. These are nicely made and mirror each other which is a sign of thoughtful creation and quality.

The wonderful carved details are hand colored with light brown and black ink popular. They are artist signed with three vertical Japanese characters on the back of one of the cuff links.

Both pieces are in nice condition with a the expected light wear from use. The silver metal has very little tarnish. These ARE Ox bone. I tested with an ultra violet light and they do not fluores.

They measure 1 inch high by 3/4 inches wide.
